Professional Holiday Light Installation
Warm-white classic or tasteful retro multi-colour — designed, installed, serviced all season, then taken down and stored. You never touch a ladder in December.
Hung, Serviced, Taken Down & Stored
One price covers the whole season — design, install, any mid-season fixes, January takedown, and storing your set until next year.
Commercial-Grade LED, Custom-Cut
Our bulbs and cord, cut to fit your rooflines and peaks exactly — no gaps, no drooping store-bought strands, no orange extension cords across the lawn.
Already On Your Roofline
We clean gutters and roofs across the HRM year-round. Same insured, ladder-trained crew — nobody in your family up a frosty ladder in December.
One Section Out? We Fix It
Free service calls all season. If a run goes dark or a clip lets go in a windstorm, text us and we'll come put it right.
A proper holiday display is one of those jobs that looks simple until you're standing at the bottom of an extension ladder in the cold, holding a tangled box of last year's lights with six dead bulbs in it. We do this the way we do everything else at WashCrafters: measured, tidy, and safe.
We design the display with you, then cut commercial-grade LED strands to fit your roofline, peaks, columns and trees exactly. The lights, clips and timer are ours — you're paying for the look and the service, not a box of product to wrestle with. We install it, keep it running all season, take it down in January, and store it labelled so year two goes up even faster.
Every install includes
- A design consult — we walk the property and map the look with you
- Commercial-grade LED lights, clips and an outdoor timer — all supplied by us
- Professional installation, hidden cords, and clips only — never staples or nails
- Free service calls through the season if anything goes out
- Takedown in January and off-season storage of your set
- Fully insured, locally owned, serving the entire HRM
Choose Your Look
Warm white, classic multi-colour, or something bolder
Most Halifax homes go with a clean warm-white roofline — it reads elegant from the street and never goes out of style. Prefer colour? We'll do the classic retro C9 palette, or go bigger if that's the statement you want. Either way it goes up neat and even.
Warm White
The classic. Soft, incandescent-style glow along the roofline, peaks and eaves. Pairs beautifully with lit wreaths and wrapped columns.
Multi-Colour
The traditional C9 palette — reds, greens and golds, done neatly and evenly — or a bolder colour statement like this one if that's more your style.
Bulb styles: C9 (the classic teardrop, bold from the street) · G30 / G50 globe (soft, round glow) · 5 mm mini & net lights (for shrubs, railings and window frames). We'll recommend what suits your home.
Beyond the Roofline
We light the whole picture, not just the gutter line
A roofline outline is the anchor. The displays people stop to look at add a few of these — and because it's all one crew on one visit, it stays coordinated.
- Rooflines, peaks, dormers and eaves
- Wrapped porch columns, posts and railings
- Wrapped trees, shrubs and garden beds
- Pre-lit wreaths and garland for doors, windows and railings
- Pathway and walkway stakes to light the approach
- Window outlines and a timer so it all comes on at dusk

Pricing
Holiday lighting pricing
Professional install from $649, priced by the linear footage of lights and how much of the property you light. Most Halifax homes land between $900 and $1,800 for the first season.
Professional Install
Starting at
$649/season
One flat price for the full season, all-in.
- Design consult & custom-cut commercial LED
- Installation, clips & outdoor timer
- Free service calls all season
- January takedown & off-season storage
What drives the price
Linear footage of roofline, home height and roof pitch, how many peaks and dormers, and the add-ons you choose (columns, trees, wreaths, pathway). We give you a firm quote after a quick look at the property or a few photos — no surprises on install day.
Returning customers
Because we already own and store your set, re-installs the following year are discounted — you're only paying for labour and any design changes. We'll reach out in early fall to lock your spot before the rush.
Season & terms
Installs run from late October through early December; takedown happens in January (weather permitting, into February). A deposit holds your install week and comes off the final invoice. The lights, clips and timer remain WashCrafters property and are stored by us between seasons.
How It Works
From quote to lights-on
Free design quote
Send a few photos or book a walk-through. We map the look, confirm colours and add-ons, and give you a firm price.
We install — usually one visit
Custom-cut lights go up with clips, cords tucked out of sight, timer set. Most homes are done in a few hours.
Enjoy it — we maintain it
It comes on at dusk on its own. Anything goes dark, we come fix it, no charge, all season.
Takedown & storage
We pull everything down in January and store your labelled set, so next year goes up faster and cheaper.
Questions
Holiday Lighting FAQ
Do I own the lights?
No — the lights, clips and timer stay with WashCrafters and we store them for you between seasons. You're paying for the design, the install, in-season service and takedown. It keeps your cost down and means there's no box of lights taking up your basement.
What if a section goes out mid-season?
Text us and we'll come put it right at no charge. Commercial LED is reliable, but wind, ice and the odd squirrel happen — that's what the free service calls are for.
When do you install and take down?
Installs run from late October through early December. Booking by October 31 gets you 15% off and your choice of week. Takedown is in January, weather permitting — sometimes into early February if it's a rough one.
Can you hang lights I already own?
Our packages use our commercial-grade LED so we can stand behind the look and the service. If you have a specific set you love, ask us — we can sometimes work it in, though we can't warranty bulbs we didn't supply.
Will this damage my gutters or shingles?
No. We attach with plastic clips designed for the job — never staples, nails or adhesive. Clips come off cleanly at takedown and leave nothing behind.
Warm white or colour — which should I pick?
Warm white is the safe, elegant choice and suits almost every home. Classic multi-colour is great if you want that nostalgic feel — we keep it to the traditional C9 palette so it still looks considered, not chaotic.
Does it run up my power bill?
Barely. LED holiday lights draw a fraction of old incandescent strings, and the timer only runs them in the evening. A full roofline typically costs a few dollars over the whole season.
Do you cover my area?
Yes — holiday lighting is offered across the entire Halifax Regional Municipality: Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, Hammonds Plains, Fall River, Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage, Timberlea and everywhere in between.
