WashCrafters started as a bet on myself — a contract job winding down in Ontario, and a decision to build something of my own instead of lining up the next one. I ran the business for a season in Kingston, Ontario first, long enough to know the model worked. Then we moved it home to Bedford, Nova Scotia, where my family had put down roots years before.

Trust here is earned slowly, and it should be. But once you have it, it runs deep — a good job doesn't just get you a five-star review, it gets you three referrals and a neighbour flagging you down in a parking lot. I still remember the Bedford homeowner who watched years of moss and algae disappear off her siding, went quiet, and said, “I’m calling my sister.” That's the whole business, right there.

Running WashCrafters also means I set the schedule — daycare drop-offs, pickups, being present for the parts of the day that used to just happen without me. Every job still gets the same careful, honest work. It just happens on a structure I built myself.
